Love Your Website with Sprinkles of SEO
Hi hi hi, friends! Got a funny one for you today. You know how sometimes we just hate our websites? We avoid them, neglect them and feel the stress rising when we think about them… that’s been an all-too-familiar feeling for me to be honest.
What if I told you we don’t have to start SEO from a place of stress or overwhelm? What if you could begin with clarity and calm? Imagine how much easier it would be to make changes—and actually fall in love with your website again and begin showering it with sprinkles of SEO changes and updates!
What is Ho’oponopono?
(And why the heck are we applying it to SEO?)
Ho’oponopono (say it with me: HOH-oh-POH-no-POH-no) is an ancient Hawaiian healing practice that focuses on cleansing negative energy, taking responsibility, and creating harmony—hello mindset shift!
It’s made up of four beautiful affirmations:
I’m sorry
Please forgive me
Thank you
I love you
And today, we’re going to sprinkle that magic all over your neglected and unloved website.
The Four Parts - Let's Apply Them to Your Website
You can't SEO what you hate. You cannot optimise a website you secretly hate.
The energy you bring to your website matters. If every time you look at it, your face scrunches up and your vibe drops to zero, then guess what? You’ll avoid it. You won’t make updates. You’ll resist the very changes that would help your business thrive online.
So let’s shift the energy….
Step 1: “I’m Sorry” — Acknowledge and Accept
Open up your website. Yep, do it now.
Now say (out loud, if you're brave) something like:
“I’m sorry, website, if you’re not working the way I want you to. I’m sorry I’ve been neglecting and ignoring you. I’m sorry that you’re a low priority in my business. I’m sorry I haven’t updated in months and you’re really slow.”
This isn’t about shame. It’s about acknowledging what is.
Maybe you’ve avoided the backend because it overwhelms you. Maybe you hired a web designer years ago and haven’t touched it since. Whatever the reason—just own it with love.
Step 2: “Please Forgive Me” — Let Go of Guilt
“Please forgive me for not taking care of you, for not updating my service or product pages, for letting my homepage collect cobwebs.”
Forgiveness is powerful.
Forgive yourself for not being a tech wizard. Forgive yourself for not knowing SEO. You’re here now. You’re learning. That’s everything.

Step 3: “Thank You” — Practice Gratitude for What You’ve Got
Even if it’s not perfect... your website exists. That alone is worth celebrating.
“Thank you, website for giving me a home on the internet. For letting people find me and connecting me with my lovely clients/customers. For showing off my services—even when I haven’t looked at you in six months.”
Gratitude shifts your energy instantly. And from that place, SEO becomes fun again.
Step 4: “I Love You” — Bring the Love Back
I want you to fall back in love with your website. Wobbly bits and all. Outdated pages? Typos? Crusty navigation bar? Who cares. You can fix all of that later.
“I love you, website. I love the business you support. I love the connections you help me create.”
Love is a high-vibe frequency. When you love your website, you show up differently. You make tweaks. You get curious. You might even open up Google Search Console (wild, I know).
How to Show Your Website Some Love (a.k.a. SEO!)
Once your energy’s aligned, it’s time to roll up those sleeves.
Here’s a list of small, loving actions to start with:
Update your homepage — make sure it reflects where you’re at now
Add internal links between your service pages and your blog (Google loves this!)
Check your metadata – are your page titles and meta descriptions doing their job?
Optimise your images — give them clear filenames, compress them for speed, and don’t forget your alt text (yes, it matters!).
Write a fresh blog post — just one!—share something helpful, personal, or insightful—Google loves new content and so do your people
Update your bestselling product page — give it a little polish by refreshing the copy, updating the images, and making sure you have all the juicy details (size, colour, material, price)
Don’t pressure yourself to do all these at once. Picking one or two is enough. Give yourself the time to chip away at the list to avoid the overwhelm.
Need Help With Your SEO?
At the end of the day, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. SEO doesn’t have to be confusing, overwhelming, or something you keep putting off.
If you need a hand with giving your website the love and improvements it needs, here’s how we can work together:
Book a Website SEO Audit
We do a full audit of your website, fix any errors we can (think techy stuff like site speed, broken links, and backend hiccups), and get your technical SEO sorted. Then we go through your report step-by-step, and I show you exactly what’s working on your website, what needs love, and what to do next. You’ll walk away feeling clear, confident, and actually excited to make changes.

Shift the Energy, Then Start the SEO Magic
You don’t need a perfect website to start showing it some love. You just need a little mindset shift, a fresh perspective, and maybe a cheeky bit of ho’oponopono energy.
Remember: SEO isn’t about being the most technical or ticking every box overnight. It’s about caring for your website like it’s part of your business family—because it is. Whether you’re updating one page, writing a new section on your homepage in ages (or ever), or finally getting your images sorted, it all counts. Every tiny step moves the needle.
